About the Artist

John Damratoski is a self taugh artist, perfecting his work over the past twenty-five years. His metal work is contemporary combined with a rustic uniqueness, achieving the greatly diversified characteristics has pieces obtain. A sleek white contemporary line in one piece, will be replaced by a rusted pipe in another, both managing to hold the same artistic brilliance and originality. This quality can also be seen in many of his more traditional works as well, one of the aspects of John's work that makes it so unique.

John uses what he is familiar with, old rusted pipes, to create stunning pieces of art. By using the rust as coloration, the pieces are wrapped with warm hues of reds, oranges, and coppers. While dramatic patterns are displayed in the colors, giving the metal an alternative flare.

John's metal work also extends to the clean, sharp, contemporary lines found in many of his handrails. His patented metal Rail Gold, incorporates a rich golden color and texture with sleek lines. When looking at it up close or from afar, it gives the appearance of real gold. This unique finish shows no fingerprints when touched; making it extremely maintenance free. The more contemporary works give off a flavor of prestige, working into them an artistic touch that is produced by the artist.
