Process

The process really begins by the design itself. Whether it is an original creation from the artist, or producing a design of a client, preparation for the metal work begins with getting something down on paper. The preparation of designer and client is always one on one. Beginning with a meeting of the minds to ensure both are on the same page. Once everything is in its place by pencil, the preparation of the metal begins. What preparation is done depends on what type of finish is desired.

The rust finish begins by sandblasting. Then the metal is left to the elements and nature, where the metallic reds, magentas and oranges take control. After the desired amount of rust is obtained, a urethane coating is applid to the meatl to stop the origination of the metal.

The metal brush finish, a light silver in color, is very similar in preparation. The metal is sanded then the urethane coating is applied. This finish gives the metal a lightly beveled texture, where light is able to glitter over the metal, like sunlight over water.

The gold nugget finish is the most unique. This process manipulates the meatl to look like real gold.

This finish is truly a work of art in its creation of gold from brass, generating an unparalelled finish that incorporates a rich color and texture. Making the cap rail one of the few in the world with it's unique appearance.
